New York, NY (August 4, 2026) — Oh, Mary! producers Kevin McCollum & Lucas McMahon and Mike Lavoie & Carlee Briglia announced today that actor, comedian, and “Las Culturistas” host Bowen Yang will make his Broadway acting debut in the smash hit comedy this September. The Emmy Award Nominee will join the company as ‘Mary Todd Lincoln’ on Tuesday, September 15 for a limited 12-week engagement through Sunday, December 6, 2026.
“My friendship with Cole has brought me many places over the years: late-night pizzerias, cross-borough social-distance walks, a tough production of Les Misérables sung in Dutch,” said Yang. “But being part of their deranged and profound masterpiece, Oh, Mary! is my favorite one by far. I will spend the rest of my life thanking them for the best Broadway debut a cis gay guy with limited singing ability could ask for.”
Additionally, the Tony Award-winning production has announced a new block of tickets on-sale, now through Saturday, July 10, 2027, nearly three years after the production’s Opening Night on Broadway. Initially scheduled for a limited run, the play continues at the Lyceum Theatre, alongside an Olivier Award-winning run in London’s West End and an upcoming North American tour launching in Hartford, CT this September.
Yang will join continuing cast members Phillip James Brannon (‘Mary’s Husband’), Barrett Foa (‘Mary’s Teacher’), Bianca Leigh (‘Mary’s Chaperone’), and returning original cast member Tony Macht (‘Mary’s Teacher's Assistant’) at the historic Lyceum Theatre.
As previously announced, current ‘Mary Todd Lincoln’ Meg Stalter ends her run in the show on September 12, 2026, with Hannah Solow playing the role of ‘Mary Todd Lincoln’ on Sunday, September 13. Yang joins the iconic lineup of performers to play the role of ‘Mary Todd Lincoln,’ including Tony Award-winning original star and playwright Cole Escola, Betty Gilpin, Tituss Burgess, Jinkx Monsoon, Jane Krakowski, Solow, John Cameron Mitchell, Maya Rudolph, and Stalter.
Directed by 2025 Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! opened on Broadway on July 11, 2024 at the Lyceum Theatre, where it became the first show in the theater’s 121-year history to gross more than $1,000,000 in a single week. Oh, Mary! has since broken its own box office record thirteen times, and became the first show of the 2024-25 Broadway season to recoup its investment.

BOWEN YANG is incredibly grateful to be making his Broadway debut in his favorite play of all time, and to be working in fragrant Midtown once again. He is a five-time Emmy nominee for his time on “Saturday Night Live” and co-host of the acclaimed “Las Culturistas” podcast and Culture Awards with Matt Rogers. Other credits include the Wicked films, Fire Island, The Wedding Banquet, Dicks: The Musical, writing on the first season of “Schmigadoon!” and co-producing Titaníque’s Tony-nominated Broadway run.
