two-for-one tickets
—Tickets on Sale to More Than 20 Broadway Shows for Performances from September 7–20—
New York City (August 18, 2015) — NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, is encouraging theatergoers to purchase two-for-one Broadway Week tickets to 22 of Broadway’s top shows. Tickets are on sale at nycgo.com/broadwayweek for performances September 7–20.
“We are delighted to once again provide visitors and New Yorkers with one of the best incentives to enjoy Tony-award winning shows, see the biggest stars perform and experience the energy and excitement of Broadway,” said Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company. “With ten new participating shows, there is even more reason to take advantage of this savings opportunity and to experience some of the world’s best entertainment.”
Launched in January 2011, Broadway Week is a biannual promotion designed to increase ticket sales during typically slower periods of attendance during the winter and fall. Since 2011, Broadway Week has cumulatively sold nearly 630,000 tickets, generating approximately $41.7 million in revenue for Broadway.
“We’re proud to partner with NYC & Company to promote Broadway Week so that more New Yorkers have an opportunity to experience the thrill of live theatre,” said Commissioner Cynthia López, Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. “The energy found on Broadway cannot be beat and is sure to inspire everyone in the audience.”
“Broadway Week is a smart way for New Yorkers and visitors to see more shows. Thanks to the vision of NYC & Company and their Restaurant Week franchise, the innovative program is now an anticipated semi-annual event for savvy theatre fans who love plays and musicals and value live theatrical performances,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League. “The only thing better than seeing a Broadway show is the opportunity for two people to see a Broadway show for the price of one!”
