The Straw Hat Revue (1939) - Ambassador Theatre

Imogene Coca. This amalgam of comedy, song and dance had its beginnings as an entertainment presented at Camp Tamiment in Bushkill, Pennsylvania, during the summer of 1939. Harry Kaufman, an assistant to Lee Shubert, had seen the show there and thought a Broadway transfer would be successful. Aside from the inimitable Imogene Coca, the revue featured other up-and-coming talents such as Danny Kaye and Jerome Robbins.
