Shubert teams with NYC & Co.

May 25, 2009

Shubert Ticketing and NYC & Company today announced an affiliate ticketing relationship between Telecharge.com, New York's preeminent theatre ticketing service, and nycgo.com, the official marketing, tourism, and partnership website for the City of New York. The new marketing alliance will enable Broadway and Off-Broadway ticket purchases on nycgo.com via deep-links into the Telecharge.com system.

"With the relaunch of our website and with every effort we carry out at NYC & Company, our number one objective always comes down to creating an uncomplicated, streamlined, planning and purchasing process for New Yorkers and City visitors," said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. "With Broadway and Off-Broadway theater as a staple experience in any visit to New York City, this new partnership with Telecharge.com is an important addition to nycgo.com."

Under the new marketing alliance, visitors to the site will now be able to purchase tickets directly from nycgo.com show event pages, and as part of inclusive packages and special promotions throughout the website. The newly redesigned nycgo.com will roll out additional features, content partnerships, and enhancements, including further ticketing integration, over the coming months.

Charles Flateman, Shubert Vice President of Marketing, notes, "Since two thirds of Broadway audiences are visitors to New York, we're thrilled to join with NYC and Company to serve the many theatre patrons who visit the nycgo.com website. Enabling a seamless path from nycgo.com to actual box office seating inventory is a significant new customer benefit."

Nycgo.com has featured over 20 advertising campaigns in the last twelve months, proving to be an effective advertising and promotional medium for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. NYC & Company launched the "ON THE HOUSE" multi-media marketing campaign in partnership with telecharge.com in February 2009, boosting ticket sales at more than 30 Off-Broadway shows.

NYCgo.com features a comprehensive one-stop hub of information for visitors and residents, tailored to the interests of a variety of lifestyle categories, with select information available in nine foreign languages. The site is transactional across a variety of consumer categories, including hotels, flights, car rentals, vacation packages, restaurants, and now theater. Additionally, the website for the first time will house a dedicated cultural calendar from the City's Department of Cultural Affairs, featuring more than 300 event and exhibition listings submitted by cultural institutions across the five boroughs.
